- 2 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 large onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 cup mashed potatoes
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
- Transfer the beef to the slow cooker.
