Savory Breakfast Pop-Tarts

Enjoy a delicious twist on a classic with these savory breakfast pop-tarts filled with turkey bacon and cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 3 tablespoons cold water
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add cold water, stirring until mixture forms a dough. Divide it in half and roll each half into a rectangle.
  4. On one rectangle, layer turkey bacon and cheese. Cover with the second rectangle and seal edges.
  5. Brush top with beaten egg. Cut slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
