- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups peeled, diced apples
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold in the apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is achieved.
- Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting on top.
