Fresh Apple Cake with Dreamy Cream Cheese Frosting

A deliciously moist apple cake topped with a rich cream cheese frosting, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled, diced apples
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold in the apples.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk until desired consistency is achieved.
  7. Once the cake has cooled, spread the cream cheese frosting on top.

Notes

  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting to prevent the frosting from melting.
  • Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
