Croque Madame

A delicious twist on the classic French sandwich, featuring turkey bacon and chicken ham.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 slices chicken ham
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet until crispy, then set aside.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. On the unbuttered side, spread Dijon mustard and layer with chicken ham, turkey bacon, and cheese.
  5. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Cook in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  7. Transfer to the oven to melt the cheese, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  8. Fry the eggs in a separate pan.
  9. Top the finished sandwiches with a fried egg.

Notes

  • For added flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese.
  • Feel free to add fresh herbs for garnish.
