Bourbon Brûlée Pumpkin Pie Recipe

A delicious take on a classic pumpkin pie, featuring a bourbon-infused brûlée topping.

  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 prepared pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, brown sugar, eggs, bourbon, vanilla, and spices. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
  4. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  5. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  6. To create the brûlée topping, sprinkle brown sugar over the top of the cooled pie and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar until golden.
  7. Allow to cool again before serving.

Notes

  • This pie is best served chilled after the brûlée topping has set.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the bourbon.
