  • 24 ladyfinger cookies
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale.
  2. Add milk and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool.
  4. In a large bowl, whip the cream until soft peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese into the cooled egg mixture.
  6. Combine the brewed espresso and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  7. Dip ladyfingers briefly into the coffee mixture and arrange in a layer in a dish.
  8. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  9. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
  10. Dust with cocoa powder on top.
  11. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
